Went to Riverside school the Wallasey Technical Grammar
Worked at Derby baths for several years in the 60's, occasionally at Guinea Gap (then onto the bins).
I now live in East Anglia but my mum and sister are local, My sister is about to open a Cafe at New Brighton indoor fair.

Hello
I came to live in Wallasey in 1952 and still do 50 years later and I came across this site when searching for old school friends for a reunion of the class of 59 at Vaughan Road School.  Mr Waugh was our teacher at the time.
I was transported back by some of the memories as I spent all my free time when I was young in and around New Brighton. I lived and died at the bathing pool in the summer and spent many hours revising my 'O' levels there.
My father was the beat bobby for Victoria Road (PC 87 Tom Paterson) and he knew everyone around the immediate area, all the shopkeepers like Charlie Cooke (I saw a mention of him in an email, but there was not contact details) and the Stonalls.  Jessie I remember had a rock stall and her husband was one of the Lifeboat men.
If anyone remembers me for whatever reason do get in touch.

My mother was born in Wallasey in 1924 she lived in Poulton but got bombed out she went to Somerville school her name is Muriel Penton she has a sister Joan, bother Bill and the late Roy.  When they left for Shropshire they left a lot of things behind including all their photos, maybe someone out there remembers them or may even have them on a photo?

Hi Diane,

Well, I think I am going back  a little too far for anyone to remember the Pierrots at New Brighton, but I do notice the lovely new Pierrot's on the round-abouts on the Prom.
My Grandad was a Pierrot here about 1890 - 1900, if you can suggest where I may look to find anything about these entertainers I would be grateful.
Joe Patrick Brady (my Grandad) lived in Birkenhead, later he was a Comedian on the Music Hall Circuits, I have some posters of the various places he performed.
Any help or information or guide where I may look to find a reference to him or the Pierrots, I would be very happy to have.

Hi Diane,

I have just found your web site. I would like to find any school friends who remember me. I lived in Edgehill Road in Moreton, I attended Sacred Heart School in Moreton then I went to St Thomas RC Becket school in Douglas Drive in Moreton. After that I went to St Mary's College in Manor Road in Liscard and then in Wallasey Village until I left in 1975. At the time my name was Maureen Elliott (now Davies) I am married with two boy's age 19 years and 2 and a half years old. I would to hear from anyone who remembers me especially Jill, Karen, Eleanor and Norma who we use to spend a lot of time together.

Hi Diane,

I was wondering whether anyone has any information on the Miss New Brighton competition.  I am particularly interested in the one that was held in 1962 as I have a relative who entered.
If anyone has any photo's/newspaper clippings etc., then I would be more than happy to reimburse costs in respect of this.

Hi , My maiden was Pamela Hobbs.  I went to Somerville primary school then Somerville secondary school.  I used to live in Northbrook Road Wallasey I left school about 1954/55.  If anyone remembers me, I would love to hear from them.
I now live in New Zealand.
