Pete Gibbons and Danny Hitchell run the line on Weds 23rd July at Curzon Ashton for the plum Group A game between England and Portugal kicking off at 7:45pm.

This is a great appointment for the two new Level 4 referees and is expected to attract a crowd in excess of a 1000 spectators.

Jack Blakemore presents Mike Dean with a momento from the West Cheshire League to recognise his appointment to the 2008 FA Cup Final. Mike progressed through the West Cheshire League as a Class One referee.

Cheshire FA have contacted Wirral RA to remind all referees that they must hold a valid CRB check and have completed the Child Protection Course to enable them to officiate. As a result they have organised a session to take place this month - the details are listed below...

With the season around the corner there are plenty of summer tournaments and friendlies which need referees. Cheshire FA request that if you agree to officiate you ensure that the tournament or teams playing in the game are affiliated to a County FA or The FA. This ensures you are covered by the insurance provided with your registration. The FA also ask that you ensure Goal - Post Safety is maintained at these games.

John Stokes has been retained as a Select Group Assistant Referee for season 2008/9. This means he will run the line on the Premier League and High Profile Football League games. Last season he achieved a very high standard and has maintained the required fitness levels to pass the required fitness test.
