Wirral Referee to Take Charge of Pyke Cup Final

Peter Gibbons has been selected to referee this seasons Pyke Cup Final.
The Pyke Cup Final is the showpiece of the West Cheshire League. The final will be played between Newton and Maghull at Vauxhalls on the 6th May with a 7pm kick off.
Peter will be assisted by Rich Abson and Lindsay Berry.
Mal Oliver will referee the West Cheshire Bowl final, the Division Two Cup competition. It will be played on the 4th May.
Dave Jones will referee the West Cheshire Plate Final, the Division Three Cup competition.

Wirral FA have announced the appointments for the 2010/2011 District Cup Finals.
They are available to view here.
Mark Cunliffe will referee the Wirral Senior Cup Final. The main competition for senior Saturday sides. He will be assisted by Simon Muir and Steve Jones. Brian Robinson will act as 4th Official.
Dan Hitchell will referee the Wirral Premier Cup Final. The main competition for senior Sunday sides. He will be assisted by Gareth Hughes and Rob Jones.
Congratulations to all who have been appointed and good luck for your games.

Wirral RA Quiz Team Retain Title

Wirral RA won the title in 2009 and were knocked off pole position by Chester RA last year.
The teams led by Ronnie Matthews and Steve Jones, though once again upset the odds to win the trophy for the second time.
Wirral RA Attend Liverpool RA Event

Wirral RA members attended Liverpool RA last Thursday night (10th March.)
Liverpool RA hosted Premier League referee Peter Walton as the keynote speaker. The night was well supported with well over 100 referees attending.
The evening began with a Q&A session with an impressive panel consisting of Premier League Referee Mike Dean, Liverpool FA Chief Executive Dave Pugh, Liverpool FA RDO Dave Horlick and Contrib Refereee Coach (and new Tranmere Physio) George Cain.
Thanks to those who provided transport to get the Wirral lads over. We were very well represented !

Restructuring of Level 4 Officials and Above

The FA have announced that they will be restructuring the refereeing pyramid from next season and bringing in a new level of official at Level 2. Level 2 will now see that being reclassified as Level 2a and Level 2b.

Cheshire Cup Final Referee Appointment

Congratulations to Rob Jones who has been appointed as this year's referee for the Cheshire Senior Cup Final. The final will be played between Altrincham and Northwich Vics.
Rob will be assisted by Wirral's Neil Davies and Rich Abson from Chester. The fourth official is Roger Andrew from Stockport.

For those members going for promotion in 2011/12, don’t forget your forms need to be returned by the 4th March 2010 to Trevor Massey at Cheshire County FA and John Davies (Wirral District FA Referees’ Secretary) needs to be notified.
Also note that the marking season for all officials for season 2011/2012 began on March 1st. Assessments now count.

The annual RA quiz takes place on Thursday 17th March 2011. Wirral RA needs 2 teams of 4. If you would like to fly the flag for Wirral against a number of other local RAs, please let me know by Friday 4th March 2011.

This month, there will be no meeting at Cammell Lairds on Thursday 10th March 2011.
Instead, members of Wirral RA have been invited to attend a Liverpool RA event where Premier League Referee Peter Walton will be the guest speaker. This event is certain to be an entertaining evening and numbers are strictly limited. For those of you that have already given me their names at the last meeting, Jack Blakemore will be in contact with you to arrange transport.
If there is anyone else that would like to go, please contact either myself or Jack Blakemore ASAP. Places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If anybody has already told us they would like to go but can no longer make it, please let me know so your place can be reallocated.
