Jack Blakemore will complete his torch run on the 1st June at Southport.

His section of the run is along Scarisbrick New Road (A570) from near to Cumberland Road towards Hampton Road and will commence at 10.17am on the day.

Although the season is finished and most of us have put the kit bags in the loft, for many the summer means nights pounding the streets getting ready for them annual fitness tests.

At Levels 4 and above, fitness tests become a way of life with a 12 minute run around a running track and completing a minimum of 2600m the requirement. Level 3’s run an extra 100m and cover 2700m in the 12 minutes. The levels above complete the FIFA style, stop start test, completing 10 laps of the track in a about 20 minutes.

As an RA we are planning to get together and train and have a bit of a laugh at the back of the Bebington Oval on the cricket pitch by the 5-a-side cages.

We will be starting this Tuesday (29th May) at 6:30pm.

Tonight’s planned RA meeting at Lairds Club has been cancelled following a number of apologies received prior to the meeting.

We meet again on Thursday 9th August for the 2012/13 Season.

Joel Ledsham was selected as this year’s Pyke Cup Final referee. He was assisted by Dave Jones and Danny Hitchell, with Graeme Kearney acting as the 4th Official.

The Pyke Cup Final is the showpiece final of the West Cheshire League.

It was played on Friday 4th May at Vauxhalls, Maghull retained the cup following a 4-0 against Ellesmere Port.

Congratulations to them all on this prestigious appointment.

We hold our final meeting of the season, this coming Thursday 10th May.

It starts at 7:45pm at Lairds Club.

It will be the final time we meet until August and would love to see as many people as we can.

Congratulations to Dave Jones, Andy Telford, Danny Bruce and Joe Whitehall who have been promoted by The FA to Level 4.

They now become Supply League referees and will referee on the West Cheshire League Division One or the equivalent in Danny’s case up in the North East.

They will also run the line on Evo Stik and North West Counties Leagues.
